The Skincare Travel Essentials
Whether you're traveling abroad or just making a quick weekend getaway, your skin still needs attention! I highly suggest stocking up on some travel-sized products for your trip. After reading this post you'll be able to pack your skincare necessities in a breeze.
1. Never forget your cleanser.
Cleansing is probably the most important step when taking care of your skin. By the end of each day, dirt has built up on your skin (gross). Using a cleanser will wash away the dirt, leftover makeup and prevent breakouts.
2. Exfoliator is your friend (sometimes).
Exfoliating is something that should be done no more than two times a week. If you plan on being away for a while, bring along your exfoliator. This will get rid of the dead skin cells on your face, giving you a brighter complexion.
3. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
If you've ever been on an airplane, you know how dry it is in there. Moisturizer is key if you're going in an airplane or traveling to a dry location. Even if you have oily skin, keeping your skin hydrated is so important. For those with oily skin, try out an oil-free moisturizer or a gel/water-based cream. If you have dry skin, try out a moisturizing oil like the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Oil. Make sure your daytime moisturizer has SPF in it to protect your skin from the sun!! It's more damaging than you think.
4. Don't forget about your lips.
Lip balm might be the easiest thing to forget because it's so small...but don't! Your lips need just as much attention as every other part of your face, especially if you wear lipsticks or glosses. If your lips are really dry, you could bring a lip mask in addition.
5. Want to earn bonus points?
Especially for long plane rides, hydrating sheet masks and hand cream are extremely helpful for dealing with the dry air. Sheet masks are fast and easy to apply on an airplane, bus, train or car and they don't make a mess! I like to bring along a serum to apply before masking to enhance the results.
